Let the Right One In - 2008

This is a screenshot from the film Let the Right One In, it's a 2008 Swedish romantic horror film directed by Tomas Alfredson. It's based on the novel of the same name, written by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote the screenplay for the film. The film tells the story of a bullied 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a vampire girl in a suburb of Stockholm. I like the juxtaposition that this shot provides. We are not used to seeing a child covered in blood on their face, and to see it not only provides the viewer with a sense of uneasiness, but also possibly gives a sense of wonder as to why this child is in this situation. I highly recommend this film, it is beautifully shot with a wide airy of techniques used, and the final scene in the swimming pool is just beautiful.
